This past October, we reached out to a group of local vendors and started styling a shoot to showcase their talents!  We were so excited to put together a romantic, natural, airy, muted autumn shoot to build up our portfolio and show future brides that it’s so fun to think outside of the box and choose textures, color pallets and shapes that go against the norm in central Illinois.  We choose to have the shoot at Matthiessen State Park in Oglesby, Illinois.  This location alone was inspiration for the whole shoot with their canyons and waterfalls!  We forged all of our greens for the shoot and keep coming back to Grace Rose Farm for all their gorgeous roses.  Below we have listed all of the people who helped the shoot come to life and made it better than we could have imagined!  Definitely check their work out, give them a follow and show them some love:)  Also below we will show you some BTS and some of our favorites from the finished gallery from Summer Leigha Photography, which blew us out of the water!  She put so much effort into each photo and the finished images shows just how much she wanted to preserve this shoot and present each business with photos that showcased their work in the best possible way.

This past fall, we had the opportunity for do the wedding flowers for the sweetest bride.  We worked under the direction of Fabulous Affairs. We’ve done a few Instagram and Facebook posts from their wedding day but we thought putting together a blog post with more behind the scenes would be fun!

Our bride, Kate and her family were such a joy to work with!  When we met Kate and the owner of Fabulous Affairs, Callie, they had so many fun and unique ideas and weren’t afraid to do something out of the box.  Kate has such a fun and outgoing personality and her theme, “color explosion” couldn’t have been more fitting!  We had so much fun using a color pallet different from our norm and helping Kate’s dream come to life.  Kate and Callie had so much trust in us and also brought so much to the table, which allowed our creative juices and crazy ideas to flow.  Fabulous Affairs created gorgeous stationary that added so much to the reception!  We could not have been more in love with how Kate’s wedding turned out and it will definitely be one that we will always remember.  On top of that, we were given the opportunity to work with some amazing local vendors – Fabulous Affairs (coordinators), Palace Events (rentals), Spruce Rentals (couches and dessert tables), and Epiphany Farms (venue).

Scroll down to view all the photos from the week of the wedding then see Deidre Lynn Photography’s gorgeous images from the wedding day.

Morning of the wedding, more set up…went through lots of water because of the 90+ degree heat :/ we made the most of it though and tried to keep the flowers in the shade as long as possible!

This client came to us wanting help updating her living room.  We first picked a paint color to help update and brighten the room.  She had a new sofa and chair on the way, so we helped finish off the room with a new coffee table, end tables, bench, and other accessories.  We redesigned the large wall on the left side of the room by adding a cabinet that allowed them to store media equipment, but made a clean and simple statement.  We then added large grasses and other accessories around the cabinet to complete the space.

This young family was so sweet to work with.  It’s always so fun to start with a defined space, rearrange it, and add in new items to fit the families specific need as well as update to a fresh new look!

Our client was looking for a new color and makeover for her dining room.  She likes modern rustic, but not too distressed.  The only things she wanted to keep in the room were her dining table and chairs and her new gold chandelier.  Scroll down to read more about this update & to see the before/after photos!

We chose repose gray for her wall color, and added a large cream buffet against her newly installed beautiful wood accent wall.  Above it we hung a large reclaimed wood mirror, and finished it off with gold/copper vases on either end with twigs and cotton.
On her dining table we added 3 light cream vases with dandelion blooms for a clean sleek look.
On the walls we pulled in the gold color again with a wood/metal tin on one wall, and a set of 4 gold shelves accessorized.  We then added 3 gold half spheres to pull it all together and add another texture.
We added a gray, with a touch of gold, wall tin and 2 floral pictures, along with a long vase of natural botanicals.
We really enjoyed designing and accessorizing this dining room…..just in time for a new baby to arrive soon! Congratulations Betsy and family!

This was a nice ranch style home owned by a sweet young growing family, that wanted to update their colors and accessories. They started off painting there walls a light gray, and we added all new lighting, with a drum light in the living space , and a cool rustic dining table chandelier, that paired well with the glass bar lights.

In the entry we added a reclaimed wood console with a rustic mirror above it.  Then we accessorized it with a glass bottle and leaf branches, candlesticks, little cream votive house, and a dried cactus branch.
We lightened the living space up with light pillows, and a really cool wood coffee table!

The colors in the rug pull it all together:)

In the open dining area we added a large tobacco basket with a cotton wreath on the wall.
The reclaimed wood dining table fit perfectly in the space, and then we added a bench which is great for kids!  The 4 x back chairs blend well with the table, and then we added a cream runner and tray of hoodies that compliments the chandelier!
In the background you can see the other end if the living space, which we lightened up by painting her existing TV cabinet and then adding green wreaths in wood boxes above it!

In the restroom, they also used the same gray paint, and then we added touches of rustic with sconces and new mirror.
