Finding Your Bridal Bouquet Style

There are many different styles of bouquets. They can range from garden to clumped or colorful to monochromatic. We put together examples of different styles of bouquets to best understand your style.

Round Bouquets

Round bouquets are often viewed as strictly “clumped”. However, a great way to add depth and interest is to add dimension in the greens. As shown, you can add such a fun element by adding greens or lots of texture to create a unique twist and interest to your bouquet.

A smaller amount of greens is still a fun touch to a clumped bouquet. Just a little splash of green helps break up the blooms and add a soft touch to the bouquet. There doesn’t have to be a lot to give you a nice touch.

If the greens aren’t your thing, a simple rounded bouquet can still be so elegant and fun. For instance, like these bouquets that have no greens but other elements, like cotton or tulips that add a unique texture, making them simple yet stylish.

Another fun twist on a rounded or “clumped” look is to add a cascade to the front of a bouquet; like these. We added hanging amaranthus to the front which added a draping effect while giving the brides their rounded look.

Garden Bouquets

A new trend that has hit the Midwest is the “garden style”. A style meant to look like you just picked the flowers out of the garden or as if they are growing out of the arrangement itself. Even this style can vary in multiple ways. Whether you want a true garden style or just a touch of it, here are a few examples of what you will get if you request the garden look.

Monochromatic Bouquets

Who said one color would be boring? Below are examples of monochromatic bouquets full of one colored blooms but so many different textures that make them unique yet classic. Every flower tells a beautiful story so, when your eye isn’t distracted by several different colors, it allows you to see the many characteristics of each flower. For example, charming dahlias showing their yellow centers or the purple tips of the succulents.

A true aspect we strive for at Floral Designs is to take advantage of the seasonal availabilities. For example, this fun boho styled bouquet that we added locally grown sedum and oakleaves to; a subtle yet complimenting touch.

Ribbon

A final touch to every bouquet is the ribbon we tie around the stems. You can choose either wrapped or draping ribbon. It’s a detail not many brides think of yet it can add a drastic change to the look of your bouquet. Below are examples of wrapped ribbon bouquets. You can’t typically see the ribbon as it is completely fastened around the stems. However, from the sides it can add a fun touch of color in whatever you desire.

Draping ribbon is an up and coming trend that is typically paired with garden style bouquets for that airy/soft look. However, whatever style bouquet, it can add such a statement to. You can do wide or skinny ribbon with as much or as little as you want. Below are examples of draping ribbon bouquets.
